Maximize Your Superpowers

Some of my FAVORITE work is when I am hired to provide regular strategy and accountability check-ins with managers. I love this work because it truly helps people maximize their superpowers. Instead of leaders getting bogged down in the details and constantly feeling "behind" on the endless to do lists, they have the opportunity to meet with an independent strategy and accountability coach who can help them stay focused on their priorities and progress. I have worked with a handful of different senior managers, on a weekly or bi-monthly basis, to help them:

1) identify their goals,

2) create a project map for the year,

3) to reflect upon and record their progress towards achieving their goals.

Managing can be lonely work. Often, it is difficult to admit to others that we need support with strategy, time-management, safe accountability, brainstorming through challenges, and celebrating our management progress and successes. It's not that our supervisors do not want to provide that support, it is often the case they lack the time (and sometimes skills) to provide it.

Some of the most inspiring and successful leaders are big idea people. These are folks that think strategically at 50,000 feet..all the time. They have a strong sense of mission, and their enthusiasm for their work and team is contagious to all whom are lucky enough to work for them. Because these same managers are also responsible for so many projects and people, they are inundated with near daily challenges that are constantly competing for their attention--and distracting them from the 50,000 foot goals. They need support in how to keep to track, monitor, revise, and record progress on achieving management goals.
