Thomke Consulting LLC was started by Jess Thompson in the Fall of 2016. Jess grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and attended Cornell College, where she majored in English and Women's Studies, and received a minor in Ethnic Studies. She moved with her husband to Portland, Oregon in 1997 and received her Master's in Teaching from Portland State University in early 2000. She taught middle school English, and was later promoted to a Teacher Coach. She facilitated racial equity and communication trainings for entire schools, committees, and individual school employees--via one-on-one coaching. After eleven years, she left teaching and worked in non-profit administration--including Volunteer Director, Operations Director and Interim Executive Director. She has extensive non-profit Board of Directors experience. The core of her work is to help individuals and teams build upon their super powers to create positive outcomes. Jess lives in Northeast Portland. Her son is a Portland Public Schools high school student, and her husband of twenty years, Chris, is a charge nurse at a local hospital.
